Mr.Children Announce New Live DVD/Blu-ray!

October 20, 2013

Well, after a very quiet 5 months (excluding Mr.Children’s appearance at Summer Sonic), we finally have some news!  The band will be releasing the live DVD/Blu-ray for their latest Tour, titled “Mr.Children [(an imitation) blood orange] Tour” on December 18th of this year (almost exactly a year after the Popsaurus DVD).  The concert in question took place at the Morioka Ice Arena, and looking at the set-list, looks like it was a great show.  On the DVD, the show will be split onto two discs, while the Blu-ray will contain the entire concert on a single disc.  The set-list for the show is as follows:

02. Kako to Mirai wo Koushin Suru Otoko (過去と未来と交信する男)
03. LOVE Hajimemashita (LOVE はじめました)
04. Worlds end
06. (MC)
07. Hana Kotoba (花言葉)
08. Yawarakai Kaze (やわらかい風)
09. Dakishimetai (抱きしめたい)
10. (MC)
11. Surrender
12. Pink~Kimyou na Yume (Pink~奇妙な夢)
13. Joutoku (常套句)
15. Gitai (擬態)
16. fanfare

17. (MC)
18. Imitation no Ki (イミテーションの木)
19. pieces
20. Happy Song
21. hypnosis
22. End of the day
23. innocent world
24. Esora (エソラ)
25. Marshmallow day
26. (ENCORE)
27. Tencho Bus (天頂バス)
28. HERO
29. Inori~Namida no Kidou (祈り ~涙の軌道)

I’ve already pre-ordered the DVD and I can’t wait to get to watch this concert.  Hopefully, we’ll see some more new material from them after this, though.  Which means that I’ll hopefully have more news to report; until then, sayonara!

What do (MC) and ENCORE mean? I’m so surprised that Gift isn’t on there, it’s my favorite of their live songs.

Based on my past experiences with Mr.Children DVDs, I believe that “(MC)” refers to parts where the band (usually Sakurai) speaks, ala “Master of Ceremonies”, and “(Encore)” refers the when they leave the stage and then return to play the Encore. Hope that that helps!

I went to see this concert last January and the opening song (Kako to Mirai wo Koushin Suru Otoko) was pretty nice. “Happy song” also got many people singing along.

Yeah – I’ve heard that Happy Song was a big sing-along song, and I can see why. Hope that you enjoyed the show!
