I’m hitchhiking
on a road without a name
sitting with my arms around my knees, waiting

it’s desolate out here
not a soul to be seen

It was I who drove everyone away
refusing to let them in

nobody’s coming to get me

but I wanna wait just a little longer

I have nothing to live for

this is how I let the day pass by

just born, what awaits us
is just a future of limitless possibilities
when I believed in that, I needn’t fear anything
and now I don’t want to believe
the future I know the outcome of
lying before me today,
so I close my eyes and let it pass

a woman is driving
the car pulls up
she says “I’ll give you a ride”

I give her my thanks
open the car door
take a seat in the passenger seat, and thank her again

after riding a while
the stiff seat starts to get uncomfortable

I get sick of nodding along to her chit-chat
and pretend to nod off

we’ve run the course as expected
at the very least until today

having just met,
we had a feeling something beautiful was to come
believing in that we could share a sweet romance
and now I don’t want to believe
this feeling that it’s all over
creeping silently upon us
so I’m looking for the light

just born, what awaits us
is just a future of limitless possibilities
when I believed in that, I needn’t fear anything
and now I don’t want to believe
the future I know the outcome of
lying before me today,
so I try and resist it
one day I set my heart upon
changing the outcome
of the future I already know,
lying before me,
because I have faith in myself, see how the future begins to move
I’ll go and pick up myself, still trying to hitch a ride
